HABITAT FOR HUMANITY NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY HAMMERS BACK; RECEIVES AID FROM HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND

HOUSTON – Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County was awarded grant funding for its Disaster Recovery Appliance Assistance Program. The program will serve 100 low-income families in the Northwest Harris County service-area in replacing flood-damaged appliances such as refrigerators and stoves which are essential to families recovering after Hurricane Harvey.

“This funding will provide Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County the resources needed to replace damaged appliances. Habitat has made a commitment to be a leader in long-term recovery efforts which will include repairing damaged homes and building new homes,” said Soleil Watt, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County.

Habitat for Humanity Northwest Harris County is one of 90 local non-profit organizations receiving the second round of fund disbursements. The fund was founded by Mayor Sylvester Turner and County Judge Ed Emmett with Greater Houston Community Foundation administering the distribution of hurricane relief funds.
